Elaboration and adoption of 1903 criminal code
The article views the history of 1903 Criminal Code – an outstanding example of the Russian criminal legislation, which was the second document of branch code after the 1845 Code of criminal and curative punishments. The author analyzes the prerequisites of the Criminal code elaboration and suggests general evaluation of its editorial commission headed by E.V. Frish. The code elaboration procedures are viewed in the context of social-economical and social-political development of the Russian Empire in the second half of the 19th c. The author pays special attention to participation of such outstanding Russian lawyers as N.A. Nekluydov, N.S. Tagantsev, and I.Ya. Foinitskiy in the elaboration procedures.
